Desert Winds Holiday Concert

On December 10 the Desert Winds performed a free concert of Holiday music on the plaza between the Rowan Hotel and Starbucks in downtown Palm Springs.  Besides the Concert Band, the Flute Choir and our new Pop Band performed from dusk to dark to a large audience among the bright Holiday decorations and a gorgeous mountain backdrop.

The Palm Springs

Festival of Lights Parade

On December 6, the Desert Winds Pop Band showcased their talents at the dazzling Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade. The vibrant decorations and illuminating lights on their float and Tesla tow truck were eclipsed only by the enchanting music they performed. We look forward to this being just the first of many appearances for the Band in this festive parade.

2025 Palm Springs Pride Parade

The Desert Winds secured the 4th position among 200 entries in this year's Palm Springs Pride Parade. It was a stunning, sunlit day, with an estimated 100,000 spectators filling the sidewalks along the parade route. The Desert Winds delivered a lively performance of 'Pink Pony Club' by Chappelle Roan.

At PS Pride, we frequently welcome musicians and colorguard members from other bands who wish to join us. This year, including our members and guests, we proudly had participants from 34 cities across California and 6 additional states.

Desert Winds Performs

'Pop, Rock, & Swing'

Pop, Rock & Swing had the audience dancing!

Our Pops Concert last May was one of the best ever and included music from Glenn Miller, Adele, Elton John & the Beatles.  Besides the Symphonic Band, the Concert included performances by the Desert Winds New Pop Band, and the Desert Winds Clarinet Buffet.

Post concert the audience and band members joined together for an old-fashioned ice cream social in the lobby.
