“For the Heroic, Bright and Beautiful”

This fall we celebrate HEROES! From those in our personal lives that bring us joy, love, and often save us in a multitude of ways; to the type of heroes, past and present, who have dedicated their lives professionally and politically for the betterment of humankind…the kind of hero we need more and more in these uncertain times.

Our annual Jazz Concert and Gala Fundraiser will take place on Valentine's Day weekend, and the Desert Winds Jazz Band will pull at your heartstrings with great jazz and popular tunes like "The Look of Love", "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You", "It Had To Be You" and over a dozen more classic hits. Featuring great instrumental soloists as well as the fabulous Tod Macofsky on vocals, this is our biggest fundraiser of the year with great silent auction items, a raffle to win a Wall of Wine, and a delicious brunch buffet.  Only 180 seats available.

Based on feedback from last years Gala, this event will be sold as assigned seating.

“You Gotta Have Heart”

Our spring concert is always one of our most popular featuring our guest composer in residence and annual scholarship winners. This year the highly sought after composer, Michael Markowksi, will join us, and our music will be truly inspiring.  The program includes Michael's "All My Heart", as well as the premier performance of one of his new pieces commissioned, in part, by Desert Winds.  Other works include "With Heart and Voice" by famed composer David Gillingham, music from the fun musical "Damn Yankees",  and a special arrangement of "I Left My Heart in San Francisco".  It will be a concert with something for everyone.
