Over the last few years, there has been increased interest from Band members to play in chamber groups and some very inventive small ensembles. Therefore, last season, the Band performed the 'Desert Winds Special Chamber Music Concert' at St. Margaret's Church in Palm Desert with with a great audience response. The offerings included:
- Clarinet choir and bass clarinet choir
- Trio for cello, clarinet and piano
- Woodwind Quintet
- Flute Choirs
- Solos for cello, organ, flute, and alto sax
More recently, a 'Pop' band was formed, a group of a dozen or so varied instruments who perform popular music around town.
