About Us
The Palm Springs Desert Winds is a non-profit community ensemble founded in 2001 by Gary Moline. Growing from 17 to 115 members, we are now celebrating our 25th Season. Our organization features a symphonic band, jazz band, pep band, marching band, pop band, and small ensembles performing throughout the Coachella Valley.
We do more than perform. We actively support music education and our local community by:
- Providing scholarships to local high school graduates pursuing music education degrees.
- Hosting annual workshops with guest composers for middle and high school bands.
- Promoting inclusivity as a proud member of the Pride Bands Alliance.
