The PSDW General Fund is our area of greatest need, serving as the heartbeat of our organization. Your contributions directly support our public performances, provide our musicians with rehearsal space, and ensure our instruments are properly maintained. While our dedicated members pay annual dues, these fees aren't enough to sustain our vision. By supporting this fund, you are helping us keep the music alive and thriving in our community.
The Davidson Education Fund supports young musicians throughout the Coachella Valley, from the classroom to the concert hall. For 13 years, its scholarship program has helped local high school graduates pursue music education, awarding $76,000 to date, with many recipients returning to teach in the community.
The Fund also brings our Artistic Director and guest composers into local middle and high schools for hands-on workshops. These visits give students the opportunity to perform a composer’s music under their guidance, learn directly from professional musicians, and explore careers in music.
The
Thorsten Fund supports new commissions for our Symphonic and Jazz Bands, along with the licensing, rehearsals, and performances of works celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion. Many explore LGBTQ+ themes or amplify LGBTQ+ composers, helping our concerts reflect our members, audiences, and community. Most recently, the Fund supported a new commission from composer and band member Rossano Galante for the Band’s 25th Anniversary in 2026.
