2026 May Pops Concert

This years May Pops Concert was one of the best!  Including performances by the Symphonic Band, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Jazz Band, and the Pops band, the performances ranged from Mary Poppins to Le Mis to Wicked!

The concert hall was full for a relaxed and fun matinee, earning the Band a standing ovation at the conclusion.

After the concert, an ice cream social in the lobby capped off a great afternoon for the audience and the performers.

PSDW Performs on Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, the Palm Springs Desert Winds (PSDW) performed at a solemn ceremony honoring the nation's LGBTQ+ veterans. The event took place at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City, near the California LGBTQ+ Veterans Memorial.

Toward the conclusion of the ceremony, event organizers presented Artistic Director Dean McDowell with a plaque. This award expressed deep gratitude for the band's dedicated performances at the service every five years since the monument's dedication twenty-five years ago.
