Winds Freedom Band!
Desert Winds Freedom Band is a non-profit community band in Palm Springs, California established in 2001 by founder Gary Moline. Since then, our membership has expanded from 17 to 115 musicians, encompassing a symphonic band, jazz band, pep band, marching band, and various smaller ensembles. In addition to our concerts, we actively participate in community events throughout the Coachella Valley. Our commitment extends beyond performance; we prioritize music education by awarding college scholarships to local high school graduates aspiring to major in music education. Each Spring, we invite a guest composer/conductor to collaborate with our Artistic Director, offering workshops for local high school and middle school bands.

What's up next at Desert Winds?
- See the Desert Winds Pop Band, performing in the PS Festival of LIghts Parade on December 6 at 5:45 pm in downtown Palm Springs-FREE
- Hear the Desert Winds Pep Band perform a concert of Holiday music on December 10 at 4 pm on the plaza next to Starbucks in downtown PS-Free
- Small ensembles from the Desert Winds will perform a chamber music concert with a wide variety of genres on January 11 at 3 pm in the beautiful Saint Margaret's Church in Palm Desert-$10 or free will offering at the door. No tickets necessary.
