Thirteen years ago, our Artistic Director, Dean McDowell suggested to the Board that the Band sponsor college scholarships for our local Coachella Valley High School Grads who planned to major in music education in college.  Since that first year, the Band has granted $69,000 in scholarships.

Awards are made from funds received from the Ralph Fingerle Education Trust annual donation and individual donations made to the James Hobart Davidson Scholarship Fund.  At our 2025 Spring Concert, the Band awarded ten scholarships-the most ever.
